Test Overview

• Test questions are based on information presented in the Powerpoint.
• You must score 100% on the test to obtain your certificate.
• If you do not score 100% you can review the Powerpoint and correct your mistakes immediately.
• Your registration will remain active for 7 days.
• You can register for a live course at any time.

Certificate Overview

• Once you have passed the test, your result will be recorded at the Suffolk County Department of Health Services as well as New York State Department of Health Services. You should receive a Congratulations email upon completion.
• Upon receipt of payment and passing the test, your certificate will be mailed to the address on record with the Suffolk County Department of Health. If you wish to have it mailed to a different address, please call our office at: 631-853-3162.

How much does the course cost?

The course fee is $50.00 per student.

What is my access number and where do I find it?

Your access number is located on your Suffolk County Health Department Vendor Education Certificate. It appears in red under your business address. If you are a new company you will need to call (631) 853-3162 to get your access number.

Where do I find my New York State Registration ID Number?

Your New York State Registration ID Number is your Tax ID Number. It can be found on your Certificate of Registration of Retail Dealers and Vending Machines for Sales of Cigarettes and Tobacco Products issued by NYS Taxation and Finance.

How long do I have to finish the online course once I start it?

After 7 days you will have to re-start the powerpoint in order to finish and take the test.

What is a passing grade on the test?

Passing grade is 100%. If you fail the test, you will have the opportunity to review the course work and retake the test until you pass.

Do I print out my own vendor education certificate?

No. We will mail your certificate upon receipt of payment, and passing test to the address in the Health Department records.

What do I do if I take the course, pass the test, but I never receive my certificate in the mail?

Will this class help reduce points if I make a sale to a an underage customer?

Yes. This is now a New York State Certified class and can be used for point reduction if the cashier that sells has taken this class.
