DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS

An employee in this class is responsible for producing legible photocopies of a variety of official records, and for making minor adjustments to equipment. Work involves operating a photocopy machine to reproduce copies of official records and legal documents. Assignments are received in the form of documents to be photocopied, and work follows prescribed procedures. The incumbent verifies work to assure a clear and readable copy. Work is under the supervision of assigned supervisory personnel, and is reviewed for legibility of the finished product and for adherence to a pre-established numerical order of documents. Does related work as required.

 

 

TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES

            Follows work order to produce specified number of photocopies of correspondence, documents, pamphlets etc., and collates sets when required;

            Makes minor adjustments and repairs to photocopy machine;

            Keeps records of photocopy assignments performed;

            Maintains inventory of supplies necessary to achieve steady production of copies;

            Performs clerical duties when work load permits.

 

FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS

Good knowledge of how to operate and maintain photocopy machines; good knowledge of modern office procedures, terminology and equipment; ability to follow oral and written instructions; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.

 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

           

            Graduation from a standard senior high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma.
