DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS
An
employee in this class is responsible for administering Federal Aviation
Administration written examinations under the auspices of a Board of
Cooperative Educational Services Program.
The work involves acquisition, distribution and collection of testing
materials and observing candidates during an examination. The employee will also be responsible for
determining eligibility of applicants for the written test. Does related work as required.
TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES
Administers
Federal Aviation Administration written tests;
Determines eligibility of
applicants for written test participation;
Acquires test books and
other testing materials from the FAA;
Assures that testing
facility meets FAA standards;
Prepares correspondence
regarding curriculum, testing and related matters;
Maintains attendance
records and other records as required by the FAA;
Retrieves and reproduces
documents and records;
Answers inquiries from
the public regarding testing procedures.
FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL
CHARACTERISTICS
Good
knowledge of the procedures used in proctoring and administering Federal
Aviation Administration examinations; good knowledge of FAA regulations;
ability to communicate instructions effectively to examination candidates;
ability to perform the clerical distribution and collection of examination
papers; ability to maintain a variety of records and to prepare periodic
reports from such records; physical condition commensurate with the demands of
the position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
OPEN COMPETITIVE:
Certification by the Federal
Aviation Administration as a Designated Written Test Examiner, in the areas of
Aircraft Maintenance General (AMG), Aircraft Maintenance Powerplant (AMP),
Aircraft Maintenance Airframe (AMA), Private Pilot Airplane (PPA), Instructor's
Rating Airplane (IRA), Fundamentals of Instruction (FOI), Flight Instructor
Airplane (FIA), Basic Ground Instruction (BGI).
