DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS
An
employee in this class performs non-professional duties to interview and assist clients in the delivery of gas or
electric services for energy related social services programs. Work requires some independent judgment, but
is performed within well-established guidelines under the general supervision
of administrative or supervisory personnel.
Do related duties as required.
Assists
clients in completing application forms necessary to receive assistance for
energy related social services programs;
Checks applications and
other documentation for accuracy and completeness;
Completes forms necessary
for issuing grants to clients for gas or electric services;
Interviews clients and
assists in determining eligibility for assistance;
Answers phone calls,
files, inputs and retrieves information on a computer, and performs other
clerical duties.

Working
knowledge of services offered through energy related social services programs
including eligibility requirements; ability to communicate with and explain
policies and procedures to people from varied economic and educational levels;
ability to deal effectively with the needs of clients while performing assigned
duties; ability to exercise sound judgment; ability to establish effective
working relationships with co-workers, clients, etc.; ability to follow oral
and written instructions; ability to express oneself clearly and concisely,
both orally and in writing; physical condition commensurate with the demands of
the position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Six (6) months of
experience in a position that involves substantial public contact.
NOTE: Education beyond high school may be substituted for experience.
Fifteen (15) credits equal six (6) months.
