DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS

The work in this class is unskilled and is comprised of duties which improve the appearance of outdoor public areas. The workers are employed on a temporary basis and are under direct supervision; perform related work as required.

TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES

Sweeps and removes litter from town facilities and roadways;

Clears streams and banks of debris;

Mows lawns, trims lawn edges and gathers leaves;

Assists with erection and removal of snow fences;

Assists with anti erosion projects, replanting and stabilizing of slopes.

FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS

Ability to follow simple oral instructions; ability to use basic hand tools; physical conditions commensurate with the demands of the position.
