WELL
DRILLER I (DEEP AUGER) 7242
DISTINGUISHING
FEATURES OF THE CLASS
Under general supervision,
an employee in this class performs highly skilled work in the construction of
deep wells (200+ feet) utilizing auger-type and other drilling equipment and methods. This class differs from Well Driller I by
virtue of the complexity associated with drilling to greater depths through
morainal material and/or clay formations.
This class differs from Well Driller II in that the incumbent may
supervise a well drilling crew in the field, but does not have responsibility
for supervising the overall operations of the entire well drilling unit. The incumbent is expected to exercise
independent judgment and initiative in carrying out assigned duties. Work is reviewed by an administrative
supervisor through written memoranda, conferences, and reviews of completed
work. Does related work as required.
