COUNTY EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT I 9660
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS
An employee in this class is involved in assisting the County Executive's
Office in the general management of County government. Duties are of a low level confidential
nature and are performed under the supervision of the County Executive, Chief
Deputy County Executive, Deputy County Executives and/or Assistant Deputy
County Executives. Supervision is
exercised over an assigned professional and technical staff. Does related work as required.
TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES
Assists in the general
management of County government, thereby relieving the County Executive of a
variety of management details;
Assists in performing
studies and preparing reports on assigned projects relating to government
operations;
Gathers and coordinates
data; and reports to supervisors on matters of low level County Executive
confidence;
May coordinate operations
for a particular function of the County Executive’s Office;
May research the impact
of proposed regulations and legislation on functions carried out by a
particular department, project or program.

CHARACTERISTICS
Good knowledge of the principles and procedures of public
administration; good knowledge of the methods and techniques of office
management and organization; good knowledge of effective supervisory
techniques; ability to conduct research and write reports; ability to plan,
organize and supervise the work of personnel in a manner conducive to full
performance and high morale; ability to express oneself clearly and concisely,
both orally and in writing; good judgment; tact; courtesy; physical condition
commensurate with the demands of the position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
This position is in the exempt jurisdictional class; therefore, there
are no minimum qualifications.
