DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS
An employee in this class is involved in assisting the County Executive's
Office in the general management of County government. Duties are of a middle
level confidential nature; and are performed under the general supervision of
the County Executive, Chief Deputy County Executive, Deputy County Executives
and/or Assistant Deputy County Executives.
Work differs from that of a County Executive Assistant II in the degree
of independent judgment required in recommending the initiation of
administrative policies. Supervision is
exercised over an assigned professional and technical staff. Does related work as required.
TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES
Formulates, initiates and
interprets policies and procedures, under the direction of a supervisor;
Assists in the research,
planning and establishment of prospective County Executive Office programs;
Gathers and coordinates
data, and reports to supervisors on matters of middle level County Executive
confidence;
Performs responsible work
in the performance of administrative duties, relieving supervisors of a variety
of management details;
Provides reports and
information on projects and programs related to County government operations.

Thorough knowledge of the principles and procedures of public administration;
thorough knowledge of the methods and techniques of office management and
organization; good knowledge of effective supervisory techniques; ability to
conduct studies of government, to perform administrative research and to write
reports; ability to plan, organize and supervise the work of personnel in a
manner conducive to full performance and high morale; ability to express
oneself clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; good judgment; tact;
courtesy; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
This position is in the exempt jurisdictional class; therefore, there
are no minimum qualifications.
