DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS
An employee in this class serves as the Clerk to the Vocational
Education and Extension Board. The
employee is appointed by the Board in accordance with Section 1102 of the State
Education Law. The incumbent exercises
independent judgment and initiative.
Work is performed under the general supervision of the Executive Director
and the Vocational Education and Extension Board, and is reviewed through conferences,
consultations and the submission of written reports. Does related work as
required.
TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES
Serves as Clerk to the
VEEB and prepares board minutes and reports;
Keeps and preserves
all records, books and papers of the Vocational Education and Extension Board;
Makes reports to
Federal, State, and local authorities regarding insurance, pensions, etc.;
FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS,
ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS
Good knowledge of general office technology, procedures, equipment and
clerical techniques; good knowledge of business English, grammar, spelling, and
arithmetic; ability to understand and carry out complex written and oral
instructions; ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with
VEEB members, employees and the general public; ability to express oneself
clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, ability to make decisions in
accordance with laws and regulations and to apply these to work problems;
ability to make arithmetical computations accurately and with reasonable speed;
physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
This position is in the Exempt Class; therefore there are no minimum
qualifications.
