ADMINISTRATION:  Includes occupations managing government services and coordinating departmental programs.

AIRPORT OCCUPATIONS:  Includes airport maintenance, management and construction occupations.

ATTORNEYS AND OCCUPATIONS IN CRIMINAL JUSTICE AND PROBATION:   Also includes clerical positions such as legal stenography career ladders.

CLERICAL:  Includes career ladders in general clerical positions (Bookkeeping, Account Clerk, etc.)

COMMUNICATIONS AND INFORMATION SYSTEMS:   Includes data processing, programmers, systems management, computer occupations, and telecommunications.

COMMUNITY SERVICES:  Includes community service, senior citizen and youth services.

CONSUMER AFFAIRS:  Consumer protection positions including those investigating consumer complaints, issuing licenses, and inspecting and testing weighing and measuring devices.

CODE ENFORCEMENT:   Includes building, zoning, housing, plumbing, electric inspection, etc.

ENGINEERING AND TECHNICAL SERVICES:   Includes architecture, illustrator, land use, regional development and comprehensive planning.

ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH AND SAFETY:   Includes chemistry, public health engineering, safety training and environmental control occupations.

FINANCE AND TAXATION:  Includes accounting, auditing, budgeting and tax-related occupations. Includes clerical titles related to these areas.

GOVERNMENT LIAISON:  Includes occupations which provide analysis and coordinate government services across departmental lines.

HUMAN RESOURCES:  Includes labor relations, personnel, civil service and employee relations.

LABOR AND TRADES:  Includes unskilled labor, skilled trades and crew leaders.

LAW ENFORCEMENT, SECURITY AND PUBLIC SAFETY:   Includes Police Officers, Guards, Deputy Sheriffs and all occupations related to public safety.

LIBRARY OCCUPATIONS:  Includes librarians, library managers, pages and other related occupations.

MEDICAL SERVICES AND FORENSICS:  Includes physicians, nurses, psychiatric and dental services and health assistants.

PARKS AND RECREATION:  Includes lifeguards, recreation instructors, museum maintenance, harbormaster, etc.

PLANNING, COMMUNITY RELATIONS AND DEVELOPMENT:   Includes urban transportation, land use, regional development, and comprehensive planning.

PRINTING, DUPLICATING AND AUDIOVISUAL OCCUPATIONS:   Includes micrographics, composing and printing occupations.

PUBLIC WORKS:  Includes occupations in waste management, facilities management, operations and maintenance of public property.

PURCHASING AND INVENTORY:  Includes contracts examination and material control.

REAL ESTATE:   Includes appraisals, title search and registration, and land management occupations.

RESEARCH AND AGENCY PROGRAM ANALYSIS:  Includes program management and research analyst occupations.

SCHOOL SUPPORT SERVICES:  Includes teacher aides, monitors, attendance aides, etc.

SOCIAL SERVICES:  Includes caseworkers, child support services, examiners, etc. Also includes job placement programs (Labor Department).

TRANSPORTATION AND FLEET MANAGEMENT:   Includes transportation planning, traffic management and vehicle operation.
